The Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association invites you to join
us in Perth, Western Australia, for the 21st Annual ACRA Conference from Monday
8 August to Wednesday 10 August, 2011.
The theme of the meeting, Casting a wider net, embraces the challenge of making
cardiovascular health and rehabilitation services more inclusive and accessible to cardiac
patients, including minority groups and Aboriginal Australians. It also recognises the
relevance of behavioural interventions to other chronic diseases. We look forward to
addressing the following areas and welcome abstract submissions on these and other
contemporary topics:
• Risk factor modification
• Behaviour change
• Indigenous health
• Improving access
• Minority groups
• Heart failure
• Innovative models of care
• Research translation
• Chronic disease management
• Physical activity and exercise
• Diet and nutrition
An exciting scientific program is being developed with Keynote Speakers Professor Susan
Michie (Professor of Health Psychology, University College, London), Professor Tom Marwick
(Professor of Medicine, The University of Queensland) and Professor David Wood (Garfield Weston Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London) already confirmed.
Please mark August 2011 in your diaries and don’t miss this valuable educational
opportunity, the chance to network with colleagues old and new, and to enjoy West
Australia and its many unique attractions!
