The Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association invites you to join us in Brisbane, Queensland, for the 22nd Annual ACRA Conference from Monday 13th August to Wednesday 15th August, 2012.

In January 2011, the city of Brisbane and the entire state of Queensland suffered numerous natural disasters. The journey of Queenslanders since the disasters mirror that of a heart patient; the crisis of the initial event, the recovery phase and finally rehabilitation.

The theme of the meeting, Crisis. Recover. Rehabilitate. encompasses the life changing effect cardiovascular disease has, particularly the psychological, physiological and often geographical journey that patients go through.

This conference aims to recognise the challenges patients face in dealing with cardiovascular disease and the implications this has on services and clinicians caring for these patients.

We aim to address the following sub-themes throughout this conference:

• The patient journey
• Geographical challenges
• Challenges in service delivery
• Progress in Indigenous health services
• Telehealth, technology and innovation
• The future of arrhythmia management
• What's new in behaviour modification
• Psychosocial updates

Please mark August 2012 in your diaries and don’t miss this valuable educational opportunity, the chance to network with colleagues old and new, and to enjoy Queensland and its many unique attractions!
