Emergency Nursing:
Balancing the Art and Science

Emergency Nurses are busier than ever. The push for evidence-based practice and quality and safety in
health care means emergency nurses are doing more with less. These and other competing priorities are
challenging emergency nursing care.

• How do we balance these priorities?
• How do we balance the art and science of emergency nursing?
• What are the lessons from the past?
• What are the challenges for the future?
• What is the future of emergency nursing?
