Presentation Formats

Oral Paper/Student Paper

Oral Papers will be allocated 20 minutes presentation time including questions time

Poster/Student Poster

Posters will be displayed for the duration of the Conference. Each poster will be allocated a (1.2 metre high x 1 metre wide) panel and the poster must fit within this area. A Poster session will be held on the Tuesday evening at which authors will be asked to attend their poster to discuss the paper with other delegates.

Rapid Fire Poster/Student Rapid Fire Poster

Authors may also be given the opportunity during a plenary session to give a 2-3 minute summary of their
paper with the visual aid of one (1) PowerPoint slide. Please indicate at the time of submission whether you wish to take advantage of this opportunity.

Workshop

Symposium workshops will be allocated 45 to 180 minutes. Workshops are working sessions with defined objectives, such as defining scope and nature of an issue, developing a plan of action, solving a problem, or demonstration of innovations with hands-on experience.

The following Workshops have been proposed and supported by the Committee. We request that delegates indicate their interest in these topics when registering for the conference. We also encourage delegates interested in actively participating or contributing to the workshops to contact the facilitators directly or via anna@cdesign.com.au.

Abstract Submission Procedure

Prepare your abstract

Prepare your abstract in a Microsoft Word document. See the abstract template above.

To be considered for presentation your abstract must include:

  • A descriptive presentation title of a up to fifteen words. Use upper and lower case in the title, not only upper case.
  • The names, organisations, suburbs, states and email addresses (optional) for each author. Indicate the presenting author in bold.
  • The presentation abstract of 250 words maximum.
  • A list of keywords.

Go to the Presenters Zone to enter your contact details and the abstract title. You can enter multiple presentations.

Upload your abstract

At the end of the registration process you will be asked to upload your Microsoft Word document.

*Don't forget to indicate during registration whether you would like your paper to be considered for inclusion into the conference proceedings.

Abstract submissions have closed and a provisional program developed, however the committee is happy to accept late abstracts. These abstract submissions will be accepted for poster presentation, and as a possible reserve for an oral presentation if there is a late withdrawal or change to the program. Please contact anna@cdesign.com.au prior to submitting a late abstract.

Audiovisual Equipment

Each lecture room will be equipped for the presentation of Power Point slides and include a data projector, computer (with external speakers), lectern and microphone. Multimedia clips should be embedded in your slides. Whiteboards or flip charts will be provided for workshop presentations if requested. Other audiovisual aids, such as Overhead Projectors, are not available.

Presenters will take their Power Point slides and associated media files to the conference on a memory stick, where an audiovisual technician will load your presentation. All slides will be run from a central presentation computer. However, if you have a complex presentation, which includes multiple media files, we suggest you bring your own laptop as a backup in case of difficulties loading your presentation.

Presenters Registration

All presenters will be required to register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. Presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
