Referencing in Papers
The two main referencing styles are APA (American Psychological Association) referencing system and the Harvard system. Fundamentally both systems are similar but each conference will specify which system they will be using. References are cited by author and date (Author, 2005) within the text and listed alphabetically with full publication details at the end of the paper. Multiple references for an author are listed chronologically.

A good overview of both styles, including examples of referencing, can be found at the Library and Information Service web site of the Curtin University of Technology [http://library.curtin.edu.au/referencing/index.html].
