Seafood Directions 2007

After a substantial level of industry consultation and feedback the Organising Committee for this year’s Seafood Directions Conference has put together the framework for an event that will engage and provoke debate from all aspects of the seafood industry.

It is envisaged that outcomes from this event will assist in providing future direction across a range of issues for the Australian Seafood Industry.

Seafood Directions 2007 is entitled ‘Seafood for Tomorrow – Embracing Change’ and focuses on industry issues related to Accreditation, Co management, Climate change, Marketing and People in Industry. With such a diverse program and list of speakers the expected 400 plus delegates will be provided with the ideal opportunity to learn from experts, colleagues and parallel industries, whilst at the same time providing further perspectives for discussion.

This year’s Seafood Directions Conference also incorporates an extensive social element that all delegates are encouraged to attend, culminating in the fourth National Seafood Awards Dinner. As well as being the ideal opportunity to network and celebrate whilst savouring some of the Tasmania’s finest fare, the event will also recognise outstanding achievements in the Seafood Industry.

As Chief Executive of the Tasmanian Fishing Industry Council and on behalf of the Conference Organising Committee I look forward to welcoming participants to this year’s Seafood Directions Conference and being part of an industry-directing event.
