Invitation to submit a Paper
The Joint SSA and NZSSS Soil Science Conference will be held from 2 - 7 December 2012 at Wrest Point Hotel and Convention Centre, Hobart. The theme for the conference will be Soil Solutions for Diverse Landscapes.
Authors are invited to submit papers for possible inclusion in the conference program. Papers are either a 250 word abstract or a four page paper for oral and poster presentations. All submissions are due by 18 May 2012. All papers are to be submitted electronically via the Soil Science 2012 Online Portal.
Other than in exceptional circumstances and at the Organising Committee’s discretion, each registrant may only be the principal presenter for one oral presentation but may be the principal presenter for more than one poster. Co-presenters are allowed, but they must be registered as a minimum for the day of their presentation if they wish to present. The 250-word abstracts will be assessed by the conference editorial committee. Four-page papers will be externally refereed.
Presentation Formats
We invite you to submit papers for the following formats. While you will be asked to indicate your preferred presentation format, the program committee may request an alternative format be considered. The committee will allocate abstracts and papers to the program taking into account the preference of authors and the balance of the program.

It is anticipated that oral papers will be allocated 15 minutes for presentation, plus 3 minutes for question time.
Presented Posters
Presented posters will be displayed for the duration of the Conference. Each poster will be allocated a panel and the poster must not exceed A0 portrait size. During a formal session it is anticipated that authors will be given a 3-minute presentation showing a maximum of two PowerPoint slides (one of which will be a title slide). Presenters will also be asked to attend their poster during a poster viewing session to discuss the poster with other delegates.
Static Posters
Static Posters will be displayed for the duration of the Conference. Each poster will be allocated a panel and the poster must not exceed A0 portrait size. There will not be a formal presentation of static posters, but authors will be asked to attend their poster during a poster viewing session to discuss the poster with other delegates.
